| Customer Reviews: An (dissapointing) average score August 31, 2010 P. Proffitt (SF Bay Area) I've been wearing nothing but PI full finger gloves on the road for 15 years now. Sadly this is the lower end of satisfaction I've experienced with the line over the years. This is not a slam on them by any means, but I must call out a major issue I've had with them. Its all about the wiping surface area. In the past PI has had a mostly terry cloth or otherwise soft wiping area between the thumb and forefinger. In their zest to have somehting labeled "green" they now use something else. It may be bamboo fiber as per the "look we're green too" marketing label, but whatever it is, its rough and over the course of a long hot ride results in painfull little cuts or chaffing around the nose/upper lip junction. Just enough to sting when the sweat gets in. Its maddening at times...not the distraction you need when you're on mile 80 with a 10 mile climb staring you in the face.
I'll use these until they wear out I guess, but if they don't address the sandpaper like wiping area in the next generation, my 15 yrs of PI full finger gloves run will be over.
Pearl iZUMi Men's Select Gel Full-Fingered Cycling Glove August 1, 2010 Bartok Kinski (Prague) I hope this glove provides the ultimate in shock absorption and comfort along with keeping my hands cool via great ventilation in hot weather.
Has alot of Gel-Vent pads, but the Soft microfleece mesh liner seems very thin.
XL fits very small on me.
Overpriced. Made in China (rather flimsy inside).
Great upgrade from previous models July 14, 2009 Amr Darwish (Cupertino. HOME OF APPLE INC.) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Another great set of gloves from a reputable company, Pearl Izumi. ZERO complaints about this pair. Velcro straps around your wrist to the base of your palm. additional padding in the webbed area between thumb and index. mesh backing on the gloves allow for breath-ability even in 100degF weather. Grip on the index for those shifting moments (i.e. no sweat in the way). Best full-fingered gloves I've purchased to-date. Highly recommend!
